Abstract:

This paper examines the nexus between Korea – Vietnam bilateral trade and Vietnam's economic growth over 1995 – 2019 by employing the ARDL cointegration test. The result is that the trade share of Korea to Vietnam has a statistically positive impact on Vietnam's economic growth in the long run perspective while foreign direct investment has an adverse effect. This finding suggests Vietnam should promote trading with Korea but should not be overly reliant on foreign investments.
