Our story

Review of Economics and Finance was founded in 2003 with one clear purpose: to give serious economic and financial research a dependable home with an international audience.

In the more than two decades since, the journal has grown into a trusted platform where scholars from many countries and institutions share their work with one another. Each volume has added to a growing archive of original studies, review articles and short communications that examine how economies behave, how financial systems work and how policy connects the two.

Today REF is published by REF Press UK and is in its 24th volume. Authors from across the globe choose the journal because it pairs careful peer review with clear, courteous editorial communication and a firm commitment to making knowledge accessible.

Every article we publish has been read, questioned and improved by independent experts before it reaches a reader. That habit is why authors and readers have relied on the journal for more than twenty years.

Our mission

To publish rigorous, original and useful research in economics and finance, and to make it available to scholars, students, practitioners and policymakers everywhere.

Our vision
