Abstract:
Financial inclusion is an important global policy issue that is of concern to many international agencies, the public and private sectors. The number of people excluded from financial circuits remains considerable and represents almost a third of the world's adult population (Global Findex, 2021). Despite the efforts made towards more inclusive finance in African countries, poor people and/or people with disabilities constitute the group that suffers the most financial exclusion from FinTechs. This does not corroborate the terms of the 2008 United Nations Convention that advocates the equality of FinTechs among people with disabilities in Cameroon. These factors were estimated using a binary logistic regression analysis on a panel of 78 people. The results show that the technological factors linked to the training of FinTech users and the technological factors linked to taking disabilities into account in the design of technologies have a significant effect on financial inclusion. The study highlights the need for financial regulation to protect the rights of people with disabilities in Cameroon.
